Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Manager oversees all aspects of the marketing and communications plan for the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce. Major responsibilities include the creation of print, online and video advertising, overseeing the production of all publications, RFP review and development on projects, development and maintenance of website content, social media platform and online presence, writing press releases, producing, weekly E-mail blasts, the monthly newsletter, and email marketing promotions, representing Chamber in all media relations. This position is an integral part of the Chamber team to promote membership, increase value and provide outstanding customer service.

Major duties and tasks:

  • Create and design promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, banner ads, posters, programs, banners, print ads for all membership and tourism events
  • Create and manage weekly e-blasts, e-Currents) and newsletter (Currents) in collaboration with the Chamber Team
  • Oversee the creation of all publications including the Discover Guides and area maps
  • Responsible for communication with vendors/contractors from RFP to project completion with all communications/marketing matters
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Events & Membership & Programming Director to implement a marketing and advertising strategy for membership promotion and Chamber events
  • Design ads for local, regional and national publications promoting tourism in accordance with marketing plan
  • Develop and maintain the Chamber website which includes reporting/tracking web trends
  • Develop and manage the Chamber’s social media platforms using and track usage
  • Responsible for taking photos/videos during events to be used for blogs, social media etc.
  • Attend chamber events including night/weekend functions

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field
  • Proficient with a variety of software including but not limited to Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
  • Work experience in marketing, advertising and/or graphic design in a nonprofit or academic setting is preferred
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skill including the ability to present concepts verbally
  • Knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
