Join the DE Center for the Inland Bays for a Kids’ Day learning about fish and other critters that call the Inland Bays home!
Participants in this program get closer to the Bays than ever before as they explore the shallow waters of the Indian River Bay for aquatic life and handle living organisms! This program will focus on how forage fish and minnows fuel the food web in the estuary. As a group, you will identify and discuss different fish, crabs, and other plants and animals that you can find at the James Farm Ecological Preserve!
Participants will be in and around the water, so please wear clothes and shoes that can get wet and sandy. Closed-toe shoes are encouraged. Don’t forget to bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellent, as the Preserve can be buggy at times.
You’ll walk approximately 0.5 miles to and from the beach, with the majority of the program spent wading in the water at the beach.
Tickets are free but registration is required.
Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. This program is weather permitting.
