Dickens Parlour Theatre Presents: Matt Donnelly, The Mind Noodler
With an unmatched blend of sharp wit, mind-bending magic, and a story unlike any other, Matt Donnelly: The Mind Noodler is a must-see act that’s redefining what it means to be a comedy magician. Recently named “Las Vegas’s Best Up-and-Coming Comedy Magician” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Matt Donnelly has been captivating audiences across North America with his one-of-a-kind blend of comedy and mind-blowing magic. His show, The Mind Noodler, isn’t just about tricks—it’s about storytelling, laughter, and the unexpected.
Matt’s journey into magic started in an unconventional way. As the head writer for Penn & Teller: Fool Us, he was challenged by Penn Jillette himself to learn just one magic trick. “It’s harder than you think,” Penn told him, “but you might be better at it than you think.” Instead of learning just one trick, Matt learned seven—each from a different magician—and wove them together into his first-ever performance. From that moment on, The Mind Noodler was born.
Matt spent years honing his craft on the road, opening for Piff the Magic Dragon and refining his unique, comedy-infused approach to magic. Now, he headlines his own Mind Noodling tour, performing at some of the most prestigious magic venues in the country, including LA’s Magic Castle, The Chicago Magic Lounge, Nashville’s House of Cards, and here at Dickens Parlour Theatre.
Beyond the stage, Matt is a force in the world of magic and comedy. He’s the co-host of Penn’s Sunday School, Penn Jillette’s award-winning podcast, as well as the host of the magic-focused show Abracababble. He recently wrapped up his ninth season as the head writer of Fool Us on The CW and has toured nationally as part of Penn & Teller Present: The Foolers and The Jokers of Magic.
But before magic, there was comedy. Matt made his mark in the Las Vegas comedy scene, sharing the stage with Wayne Brady in the hit improv show Making It Up at The Venetian. He also played Christian Grey in the wildly funny 50 Shades: The Parody at Bally’s and hosted the innovative, off-the-wall comedy show Executive Monkeys at The Palms.
