Communication is Key: Personal Readiness and Preparedness for Disasters/Emergencies
You are invited to join several Sussex County Emergency Preparedness Specialists at South Coastal Library on May 15th, 2025 from 2-3:45 pm to engage in an active conversation about communications, before, during, and after a disaster, or emergency.
This workshop will feature four keynote panelists, each of whom, will present a short presentation on a carefully curated communication and preparedness topic. Specialists will explain the importance of having a communication plan and options that exist when communication capabilities are down, during a disaster. Understanding the importance of “Knowing Your Zone” for evacuation orders will be discussed, and the role that libraries play in disaster support. Personal preparedness steps will be presented with participants receiving a free Go-Bag and multiple take home resources to share with family and neighbors. There will also be a brief Q & A portion for audience members to ask questions and share resources.
