Celebrate National Library Week at the Frankford Public Library

The Frankford Public Library is hosting a Community Connect Night, Monday, April 8th at 5:00pm to celebrate National Library Week. National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and communities. The Frankford Public Library will offer various programs throughout the evening and opportunities to meet with our new staff and Library Director, Lesley Koble. The library will also offer two Storytime opportunities for children and those young at heart. The PAWS Reading program begins at 5:00pm, where patrons can read aloud to a furry, friendly therapy companion. State Treasurer, Collen Davis will share her voice, concluding the evening at 6:45pm with a favorite from the Children’s Library.  Light refreshments will be served.

The Frankford Public Library, which was as establish in 1931 and has been at the heart of the local community for the past eighty-eight years and continues to lead the community through their friendly staff, increased programming and expanded services. Frankford offers Bilingual Storytime, Homework Help for elementary and middle school age children in Spanish and English, Teen Advisory Group programs, Adult Book Circles, Social Workers at the Library and so much more. Frankford joins libraries of all types and sizes in celebrating the many ways libraries build strong communities by providing critical resources, programs and expertise.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
