DESCRIPTION:Poseidon on Display - 11 am Daily\n\nThroughout the event\, watch local artist George Zaiser create a sand sculpture that captures the essence of our Poseidon Festival. Carving begins at 11 am daily until completion.\n\n\n\nParrotbeach - Fri\, May 24\, 7:30 pm\n\nThey're back for a third year in a row! Whether you're a Jimmy Buffett fan or just a beach lover\, a show with PARROTBEACH will have you singing\, laughing\, and dancing in the aisles. Come to the party dressed in your best Buffett outfit for added fun!\n\n\n\nBook Signings - Saturday\, May 25.  10:30 am - \n\n\n\nVisit the Nature Center for a book signing by Nancy Sakaduski\, author of The Mermaid in Rehoboth Bay. Also\, make a mermaid crown (while supplies last). Dress like your favorite seacreature to get a prize. There will be a Mermaid Scavenger Hunt and mermaid scratch art too.\n\n\n\n7:00 pm - Bethany Beach Books - Book signing by author Mary Kay Andrews\, author of "Sunset Beach".\n\n  \n\nPirates on the Plaza - Sat\, May 25\, 1:00 - 5:00 pm\n\nGet up close and personal with Captain Cortez and his troupe of plunderers as they lure you into the Golden Age of Piracy. See live sword demonstrations and learn about the ways of pirate life in exciting swashbuckling shows throughout the day. Come dressed as a pirate or mermaid for your chance to win prizes in our costume contest and be crowned Mr. & Ms. Poseidon. There will be plenty of photo opportunities.\n Live Mermaid Tank - Sat.\, May 25\, Noon - 6 pm\n\nSee a live mermaid on display in her very own tank! Watch interactive mermaid performances throughout the day including live cracking of pearl oysters to be given to the first 50 guests.\n\n\n\nSons of Pirates - Sat\, May 25\, 3:00 & 4:30 pm\n\nSometimes billed as a Jimmy Buffett tribute act\, this beach party band also plays hits by Bob Marley\, Zac Brown\, and more. Be ready for dancing & fun participation!\n\n\n\nEmergency Meet & Greet - Sat\, May 25\, 5:30 - 9:00 pm\n\nLearn from the local experts how to prepare for a potential coastal emergency. Meet and greet our Town lifeguards\, police\, and fire personnel. See the Town Mobile Command Center and water rescue vehicles up close. \n\n\n\nChris Sacks Band - Sat\, May 25\, 7:30 pm\n\n\n\nThis band is best defined as a swirling mixture of red-blooded American music blended with the blue seawaters of the Caribbean. Captain Quint fans will know Chris as a former member. He has since opened for national acts such as Michael Ray\, Joe Diffie\, Lorrie Morgan\, Pam Tillis and Mo Pitney.\n\n\n\nHermit Crab Derby - Sun\, May 26\, 1:00 - 5:00 pm\n\n\n\nChoose a crab\, name it\, and have fun competing in this race run by the National Crab Racing Association and backed by Florida Marine Research.\n\n\n\nMarine Science Camp - Sun\, May 26\, 1:00 - 5:00 pm\n\n\n\nGain an appreciation for our marine life and environment in a fun open-classroom setting by the sea. This award-winning program will explore sharks\, rays\, dolphins\, turtles\, and coral reefs through interactive hands-on activities.\n\n  \n\nSkim Board Basics - Sun\, May 26\, 5:30 pm\n\n\n\nRELYance Skim Camp will demonstrate basic skim boarding tips\, etiquette\, and safety on the beach off Garfield Parkway. Boards will be provided.\n\n\n\nU.S. Navy Country Current - Sun\, May 26\, 7:30 pm\n\n\n\nNationally renowned for its versatility and "eye-popping" musicianship\, Country Current performs a blend of modern country music and bluegrass. This ensemble performs regularly for the president\, vice-president\, the secretary of the Navy\, the chief of naval operations\, and the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. Reaching out to communities both locally and nationally\, they regularly perform in support of our active-duty sailors.\n\n\n\nAloha Summer Luau Show - Mon\, May 27\, 1 pm\n\n\n\nSay Aloha to summer in this Poseidon Festival finale. We'll take you on an enchanting journey through the Polynesian islands complete with pulsating drums and exotic dancers performing a revue of dances from Hawaii\, Tahiti\, Samoa\, and New Zealand. You'll even learn how to dance the hula.
