This occurs annually on January 9th. The C.O.P.S website explains the purpose of this event and offers ways that we can all show support and appreciation to the law enforcement personnel who protect us and our community. \n\n\n\nCitizens who appreciate law enforcement are encouraged to take time on January 9th to show their support. Our citizens can show their support in a number of ways: \n\n	Change your profile on social media to the jpg. image provided at www.facebook.com/nationalcops\n	Wear blue clothing in support of law enforcement \n	Send a card of support of law enforcement \n	Organize an event or rally in support of your law enforcement officers \n	Advertise your support through local media outlets/billboards\n	Post the public service announcement supplied by C.O.P.S to your organizations webpage or social media pages.\n\nMost important\, if you see a police officer\, thank a police officer.
