DESCRIPTION:Join the Historic Village in Ocean View as we recreate a half-day event celebrating the original Delmarva Chicken Festival\, a popular local tradition for decades. The poultry industry is a huge part of the economy of our area and in "Celebrating Everything Chicken" we nod to its importance and the livelihoods of many of our neighbors.\n\n \n\nHighlights of the activities available include:\n\n	The Documentary\, "Cluck\, Pluck\, and Luck" about the origins of the chicken industry in Ocean View will be shown in Hall's Store.\n	White Elephant table where various chicken items will be sold (CASH-only).\n	DJ Brian K. Hall emceeing and providing music.\n	"Chicken Pickin" contest hosted by Zach Evans from Mountaire Farms. Cash prizes will be awarded.\n	Children's Crafts to include making a chicken visor for a "Biddie Parade" around the park.\n	"Color a Chicken" session hosted Dr. Joanne Guilfoil\, a local artist\, author\, and chicken aficionado.\n	Delaware Secretary of Agriculture Michael Scuse will join us during the Egg Toss.\n	University of Delaware Cooperative Extension's Georgie Cartanza hosting a "Chicken Chatter" session to explain everything you wanted to know about chickens.\n	"Chicken Kickin" dance contest to showcase your best chicken dance to earn one of our special prizes.\n	Perdue Farms Touch-A-Truck.\n	Mobile Ag Lab developed by the Delaware Farm Bureau.\n	Sales by Slower Lower Delaware T-Shirt Company.\n	Shipwrecked Ice Cream and Mini-Golf of Ocean View\n	Park Playground will be opened \n\nNet proceeds will benefit the Historic Village in Ocean View\, a local non-profit that has as part of its mission to preserve\, interpret\, and collect the history of Ocean View and the surrounding Baltimore Hundred area (i.e.\, Bethany Beach\, Fenwick Island\, Frankford\, Millville\, Ocean View\, Roxana\, and Selbyville).\n\n______________________________________________________________________________________\n\n\n\nChicken Platter Ticket Sale Details\n\nChicken Platter - (Fried or Smoked) ($10)\n\nChicken Platter - (Fried or Smoked with Bottle of Water) ($11)\n\nChicken Platter - (Fried or Smoked with Soda) ($12)\n\n \nThe platter includes:\n\n\n	Leg and thigh\n	Bag of potato chips\n	Side of applesauce\n	Side of coleslaw\n	Dessert\n\nThe smoked chicken is being smoked by the members of the Doric Masonic Lodge and the fried chicken is being fried by G & E Hocker's Supermarkets.\n\n \n\nPlease note that for those who have pre-purchased food items\, the chicken platters need to be picked up at the park by 2:00 p.m. the day of the event.\n\n \n\nWe strongly encourage you to pre-purchase online so you are guaranteed the option you want and don't have to wait in line to pay at the event.
